THIS IS ENDOMETRIOSIS is an intimate, expressive film about how endometriosis has robbed Georgie Wileman of time.
Told in the first-person and blending present-day narrative with memories from the past, the film is a uniquely personal account with unprecedented access.
Through a combination of deeply private, self-documented material, intimate family archive, traditional observational footage and a collection of reconstructive memories, the film tells the story of a young photographer’s battle to stay in the present while facing a wall of disbelief.
Seen through the lens of Georgie's beautiful, brutal photography, This Is Endometriosis is a human insight into the realities of living with the disease and a story about the power of community.
This Is Endometriosis was longlisted for a 2026 BAFTA for Best Short Film, nominated for a 2025 Grierson Award for Best Documentary Short, won a Gold Shark at Kinsale and was honoured at the Webby Awards. The film went on to screen at Everyman Cinemas across the country and is now free to watch on Minute Shorts and Water Bear.
